Per Merriam-Webster dictionary, “Fangirling” is defined as:
A girl or woman who is an extremely or overly enthusiastic fan of someone or something;
To Exhibit fandom often to an excessive degree : to behave like an extremely devoted or overly excited fangirl.
Ladies and Gentlemen…..I am a fangirl! Wait, let me back up and start from the beginning…..
I started reading this book, Dear Life by Meghan Quinn; now, this isn’t your typical rom-com story…no, this book was deep and emotional. I read this book in ONE DAY!
There is a message that carries through the entire story “Prove Your Existence”. Each of the characters had this task. It made me think, wow! What a thought? How do I prove my existence? Well, I wasn’t. I was sitting by and letting life happen. I wasn’t putting myself out there and after reading Dear Life, that mentality changed.
Which now brings me to Fangirling….because you see, I had the most amazing opportunity to meet the author, Meghan Quinn, at Indies Invade Philly in 2017…..and yes….I total fangirled!!! I have video and photographic proof of it. And I am not ashamed of it!!!
In 2018, I attended Book Bonanza in Denver, Colorado, where yet again, I fangirled over Meghan! But this time, I was able to show her a tat that I got because of her book, what a moment!!!
So, I have lived up to Merriam-Webster’s definition of fangirl and I am here to say…
I AM A PROUD FANGIRL!!!!!!
